PRODUCT BACKGROUND Why did you create this product? Regelica was founded by two friends with very different skin types: Regina, from Eastern Europe, and Elisa, who is Korean. Regina is 15 years younger than Elisa and was jealous of Elisa's “Asian skin,” joking that Asians don’t seem to age. It wasn’t just her—this is a comment we heard often: “It’s hard to tell their age,” or “Asians look so much younger than they are.” These observations intrigued us and pushed us to dig deeper into the science behind Asian skin.
We reached out to one of the top Korean skincare labs and learned from skin morphology research that Asian skin tends to have a thicker dermis and higher collagen density, making it more resistant to wrinkles and sagging. So, Asians don’t necessarily need to boost collagen as much as people with thinner skin; instead, they benefit more from preserving existing collagen with skin-barrier-reinforcing formulas.
When we looked at the needs of thinner skin, we realized that the perfect balance between Korean and Western skincare didn’t truly exist—and that’s how Regelica was born. We set out to create products that marry the best of both worlds, because we believe the best results come from combining collagen stimulation with collagen protection, using potent yet gentle, science-backed ingredients.

We chose Korea because its beauty industry is among the most advanced in the world. It offers exceptional infrastructure—from top-tier researchers and chemists to cutting-edge laboratories—and a culture of continuous innovation. By working with leading Korean labs, we tap into this technical excellence while maintaining full control over formulation strategy and performance standards.
Our formulas are specifically tailored to the needs of the Western audience. Leading Western skincare brands focus on potent actives to stimulate collagen production and skin cell renewal—particularly important for thinner, aging skin.
We include these powerful actives at clinically supported concentrations, which is less common in traditional Korean beauty products, as the local market typically does not require such strength. Many Korean products are intentionally very gentle, prioritizing hydration and barrier support over high-potency actives.
Many Korean skincare products are perceived as affordable but are not always truly effective. We position ourselves in the premium segment, combining the Korean philosophy of skin protection and age prevention with clinically supported ingredients at effective concentrations—bridging comfort and performance. We intentionally combined these functions to mimic the key characteristics of healthy, resilient “thick” skin often seen in Asian skin: abundant collagen, a strong barrier, and sustained hydration.
Many Western anti-aging products rely on highly potent actives such as retinoids, glycolic acid, and ascorbic acid. While effective, these ingredients can be sensitizing and drying for many people—especially those with thinner or more reactive skin.
